Season 13 Trailer | Making Peace with What I Can’t Control

SHAE HILL:
Welcome to Season 13 of Therapy and Theology. We have such a special treat for you guys over this season. Over the next couple weeks, we're getting an inside look into Lysa TerKeurst's new book, Making Peace With What I Can't Control.

SHAE:
Between Lysa's behind-the-scenes and personal editions she'll share with us, Jim's counseling insights, and Dr. Joel's theological research and wisdom, these exclusive Therapy and Theology conversations are going to make this message come alive as you hopefully get your copy of Making Peace With What I Can't Control and read with us.

SHAE:
Now, here's a sneak peek of what's to come.

LYSA TERKUERST:
The real issue underneath control, I think some people assume it's power. It's not. It's fear.

DR. JOEL MUDDAMALLE:
There is something about watching the chaos that almost, like, it's like a black hole and starts to draw you in until you're like, "Why did ... Like, what could have possessed me to do something like that?" And then all of a sudden you're living in the context of that chaos.

JIM CRESS:
Can we have a quick therapy moment around that? And I believe it's a theological moment too.

LYSA:
I was about to have a therapy moment with him too.

JIM:
I'll interview my inadequacy, like what might be out of alignment in my life spiritually, relationally, or emotionally, but I'm not gonna run from my inadequacy anymore.

LYSA:
There seems to be a paper-thin line between being responsible and being controlling.

JOEL:
Theology is simply thinking God's thoughts after him.

LYSA:
The more I'm concentrating or being consumed by my fears, the less I'm clinging to the Lord.

SHAE:
